Sustainability nonprofit accepting grant applications for innovative ag practices

117 wordsAg and Environment, All Latest News, Innovation and EntrepreneurshipWest Des Moines-based nonprofit Wright Foundation for Sustainability and Innovation is currently accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations and farmers working on projects that reduce carbon footprints and increase biodiversity and use of renewable resources. The Tree Canopy Improvement Grant is available to nonprofits engaged in urban and suburban tree planting, greenspace initiatives and efforts to enhance tree species diversity. Nonprofits and farmers focusing on agricultural practices that improve water and soil quality, manure use, biodiversity, or address methane and nitrous oxide emissions are eligible to apply for the John Harsch Regenerative Agriculture Grant. Since its establishment in 2020, WFSI has awarded $525,000 to seven organizations. Interested applicants can learn more and apply here until March 1.
