Organized in part by Abi Reiland, senior associate at Jones Lang LaSalle, “Taking Up Space” will feature a panel of diverse women who will discuss professional obstacles, challenges and successes, as well as personal wellness, financial health and family.
“I really want the event to feel intimate, interactive and relatable. Women have challenges that create a unique professional experience, so having events that open the door to discussing those topics are pivotal in aiding other women as they continue their journey in business,” Reiland said in an emailed statement.
Panelists include Emily Steele, owner and founder of Hummingbirds; Annie Brees, owner and founder of Balance 365; Bridget Cravens-Neely, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa; Jen Carruthers, owner of 11Eleven Productions and Capital City Pride Director; Minnie Cord, vice president of JT Logistics and moderator Alyx Sacks, anchor at KCCI.
The event will be held at Toast in Ankeny from 3 to 5:30 p.m. More information and registration can be found on Eventbrite.
Reiland said she hopes to make this an annual event that offers accessibility, empowerment and engagement of local current and aspiring leaders.
