The Iowa Architectural Foundation and Iowa Mid-Century Modern plan a mid-century condo tour on Des Moines’ west side on Aug. 18. Participants will tour the “Sanford House” condos at 3660 Grand Ave. and see six featured units, hear a presentation about the building’s history. Two time slots are offered, from noon to 2 p.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. The event will also hold a cocktail hour from 3-7 p.m. at Hello, Marjorie with a complimentary signature cocktail created for the event included. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at iowamcm.com. Proceeds will benefit the Iowa Architectural Foundation.
