Des Moines Register: Iowa students on F-1 visas will be required to leave the country by the fall semester if they are unable to take in-person classes, according to new restrictions announced by the Trump administration Monday. University of Iowa officials announced last month a “hybrid, face-to-face” plan for students, faculty and employees returning to campus this fall that leaves the academic calendar untouched but shifts all classes to an online format after Thanksgiving break. As a result, under Monday’s announcement, all UI students studying on F-1 visas may be forced to leave the country after Thanksgiving. Today, Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology sued the Trump administration over the plan, NBC News reported. The lawsuit seeks a temporary restraining order seeks an order vacating the policy and a declaration that it is unlawful.
