United Way of Central Iowa names Susan Kloewer chief advancement officer

The United Way of Central Iowa has appointed Susan Kloewer as the organization’s chief advancement officer. Kloewer, who will join the organization’s senior leadership team on Dec. 1, will provide guidance to communications and the philanthropic direction of the organization, including leveraging data and technology while advancing the overall messaging and implementation of the United to Thrive strategic focus. Before joining United Way of Central Iowa, Kloewer was the administrator of the State Historical Society of Iowa and director of the State Historical Museum of Iowa. She also has experience serving in multiple development positions at the Science Center of Iowa. “Susan’s wealth of experience in enhancing resource streams and initiatives, building and maintaining relationships, and engaging with a broad range of constituents will be instrumental in advancing United Way’s fundraising and communications plans aligned with United to Thrive strategies,” Mary Sellers, president of United Way of Central Iowa, said in a prepared statement.
