UnityPoint Health plans to open a new multispecialty clinic in Waukee in spring 2024, the health care provider announced.

Development and construction costs of Waukee Medical Park are estimated at over $40 million.

The two-story, 75,000-square-foot clinic is planned on the southeast corner of Grand Prairie Parkway and Southeast Tall Grass Lane. The Waukee Planning and Zoning Commission last fall approved site plans for the proposed UnityPoint Health clinic.

Family medicine and internal medicine medical services will be provided at the clinic as well as speciality services including cardiology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, and dermatology. Lab and imaging services will also be available. Standard outpatient procedures will also be performed at the clinic.

UnityPoint currently operates six medical facilities in Waukee. David Stark, CEO and president of UnityPoint Health-Des Moines, said there are no immediate plans to close existing health care facilities in Waukee. “We are expanding our services in the Waukee area to meet the needs of this growing community,” he said.

UnityPoint’s Waukee Medical Park will be across the street from a 60,000-square-foot medical clinic and surgery center planned by Iowa Clinic, a physician-owned chain of clinics and urgent care centers.
