The University of Iowa Health Alliance has named Jennifer Vermeer president and CEO. She succeeds Dan Kueter, who joined the Midwest Health Collaborative in Ohio as CEO in late May. Vermeer joined UI Health Care and UIHA in August 2014 as chief operating officer focused on population health. Previously Iowa Medicaid director, Vermeer has more than 20 years of health care leadership experience. The alliance — which includes Genesis Health System, Great River Health Systems, Mercy-Cedar Rapids and University of Iowa Health Care — was formed in June 2012 to better coordinate care, prevent and better manage disease, reduce costs, and deliver care more efficiently.
