The University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business is partnering with UnityPoint Health to host students from some of the top business analytics programs in the country at its fourth annual Business Analytics Case Competition on April 12. The students will come to Iowa City to solve a real-world business problem provided by the West Des Moines-based health care system. Four-student teams from the 16 schools will analyze the data from UnityPoint to identify issues the health care provider is facing with a particular problem and make recommendations that will better inform leadership’s decision-making. After two rounds of presentations, a final round will be held at 1 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Iowa City. The presentation is open to the public. Analytics experts from Deere & Co., Interstates Control Systems, Principal Financial Group, State Farm, United Airlines, Phillips and Aarete will judge the competition.
