Upper Iowa University launches scholarship drive
Upper Iowa University President Alan Walker on Tuesday issued a challenge to raise $1 million to fund student scholarships. The university has conducted the Team Peacock Scholarship Fund Drive each year since 2005, primarily by soliciting individual donor pledges and corporate sponsorships to support a team’s participation in RAGBRAI. Aramark Corp., Upper Iowa’s food-service provider, has pledged $300,000 to the scholarship campaign.
