Permits were issued for 165 single-family houses, four townhome units, one 48-unit multifamily development and 12 new commercial buildings. The remaining permits include commercial and residential projects such as additions, remodels and decks. Commercial and industrial permits surged ninefold over the previous year, according to the release, including construction for Highline Storage, Handle University, the Range Grill & Golf and a warehouse addition at Van Meter Inc. “We expect that 2018 will be another good year for valuation considering the continued platting of residential areas out west, and anticipated office projects like R&R Realty’s Paradigm Building, John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group’s office building. And we certainly hope the opening of the 100th Street interchange later this year will also be a real incentive for additional office and retail development,” Community Development Director Steve Franklin said in a statement.
