US Cellular announces layoffs

224 wordsAll Latest News, Economic Development, Retail and BusinessUS Cellular plans to lay off 497 employees in Iowa, according to a notice filed with Iowa Workforce Development. The company filed the Worker Adjustment and Retaining Notification, or WARN, on Monday. US Cellular’s layoffs are part of the company’s sale to T-Mobile, a deal that involves the termination of 4,100 employees nationally. For most, those layoffs will go into effect June 2.
This year statewide, 2,785 workers have been laid off in Iowa, according to WARN:
