A U.S. Department of Agriculture report says the widespread flooding in the Midwest won’t hurt overall corn and soybean production much if weather patterns are normal, Successful Farming reported. Farmers intend to plant a combined 177 million acres of corn and soybeans this spring. By comparison, floods have covered 500,000 acres in Iowa and western Nebraska, and 1.1 million acres across the Midwest.
