USGBC announced new award
On Tuesday, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced a new award in recognition of Mayor Richard M. Daley’s leadership in making Chicago one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the nation. The Richard M. Daley Legacy Award for Global Leadership in Creating Sustainable Cities will be presented to Daley during the USGBC’s annual Greenbuild conference in Chicago. According to the USGBC, Chicago has more Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified buildings than any other city. “This award is in recognition of the mayor’s visionary and planet-changing leadership that has created the amazing legacy of a green city,” said Roger Platt, the USGBC’s senior vice president of global policy and law.
