If you watched the Field of Dreams ballgame last week between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees, you may have missed a nod to Variety – the Children’s Charity of Iowa. Amid all the excitement of the game, there it was, the bow tie worn by MLB reporter Ken Rosenthal. Rosenthal is a dugout reporter and MLB Network insider who wears a different charity bow tie when he’s covering games. For last week’s Field of Dreams game, he chose the Variety bow tie. The Variety bow tie was created in 2012 in partnership with BowTie Cause, an organization that designs and sells bow ties to benefit nonprofit organizations nationwide. Rosenthal is an ambassador of BowTie Cause. Danny Beyer, a Variety board member, said it was exciting to see the Variety bow tie on display during the Field of Dreams game.
