Variety – the Children’s Charity, a nonprofit organization that raises money for children who are underprivileged, at risk, critically ill or living with special needs, announced that it raised over $129,000 during its Two Days of Compassion Radiothon on KJJY Dec. 10 and 11. The two-day radiothon was broadcast live from Jordan Creek Mall in West Des Moines, where volunteers answered phone calls from donors from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. The money raised from the radiothon contributes to the Compassion Fund, which benefits critically ill children and their families at local hospitals by providing comfort, care and fulfilling immediate needs.
