Veridian Credit Union has awarded $90,000 in Giving Tuesday donations to 16 organizations across Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota in celebration of its 90th anniversary. The public nominated organizations for the campaign, which were drawn at random to receive the donations. Three organizations in each of the credit union’s five market areas received $5,000. In the Des Moines area, Jewels Academy, Kingdom Living Iowa and Sleep in Heavenly Peace received $5,000. Anawim Housing was selected at random to receive a $15,000 donation. “Veridian was founded 90 years ago on the need to support our communities and the people in them,” Veridian President and CEO Renee Christoffer said in a prepared statement. “It’s appropriate for our anniversary celebrations to reflect those values that still guide us today.”
