Six Central Iowa nonprofits were among 19 organizations in Iowa and eastern Nebraska that received a share of $90,000 in grants from Veridian Credit Union’s Successful Financial Future Grants program. The program awards up to $5,000 to nonprofit organizations that address barriers to financial stability through financial literacy or employment readiness. The six organizations in Central Iowa that each received a $5,000 award were Beacon of Life, the By Degrees Foundation, the Iowa Center for Economic Success, Junior Achievement of Central Iowa, Lutheran Services in Iowa and Project Iowa.
