West Des Moines-based insurance agency Vibrant Insurance Group announced Jan. 1 it has acquired Donaghy Kempton Insurors (DKI), formerly located in north Des Moines. DKI, which was formed in 1975 and owned by Joel Donaghy, has moved its operations and employees to Vibrant’s corporate offices and the company is now operating as Vibrant Insurance Group. Vibrant Insurance Group President Joey Hinke said in a prepared statement that the acquisition will offer expanded customized coverage options for both companies’ clients. According to a news release, DKI brings expertise in the trucking and contractor industries, and Vibrant specializes in personal and commercial lines coverage options. Vibrant was founded in 1978 as Miller, Fidler & Hinke until March 2023 when the company rebranded.
