Mike Beranek was a Disney American Teacher Award winner – in 2001 – and has also been a third grade teacher in West Des Moines for more than 20 years. Mike is also helping shape education through a variety of committees and boards and serves as the vice president of the Iowa State Education Association. In Mike’s talk, he argues that we need to get children out of the classroom and into businesses, and businesses into the classroom. And more importantly we need people and teachers to work at forming relationships with students.?
