The state’s manufacturing sector remains resilient as it continues to navigate post-pandemic conditions, experts said during the Business Record’s Manufacturing Forecast on Aug. 9.

The event looked at issues ranging from fears of recession and how companies are adjusting to economic uncertainty, increased costs of materials, workforce challenges and what companies are doing to keep employees engaged, and how companies are navigating the use of artificial intelligence.

The conversation featured a panel of speakers, who included: Megan Green, counsel and engineering manager at Weiler; Laura Phillips, vice president of engineering at Pella Corp.; Dereck Lewis, president and founder of Thelma’s Treats; Mike O’Donnell, director of Ciras at Iowa State University; and Tom Root, associate professor of finance and economics at Drake University.
