Smart-phone users can now explore Greater Des Moines with a mobile website, See Des Moines Mobile. The free, interactive website will allow mobile phone users to search for upcoming events, places to stay, coupons and restaurant options. Users with a GPS-enabled smart phone can search for nearby points of interest by selecting “My Current Location” to find hotels, restaurants, nightlife and other events within a mile. “We believe this will push more traffic into local hotels, businesses and restaurants, which should result in higher visitor expenditures,” said Greg Edwards, president and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau.
