Volvo showcases safety feature in Des Moines
Willis Volvo of Des Moines hosted the “Naughty Volvo Tour” on Wednesday evening, showcasing the new Volvo S60 featuring Pedestrian Detection technology.
The new technology uses a radar- and camera-based system to detect pedestrians in front of the car and then warns the driver before activating full braking power if the driver doesn’t respond in time, according to a company news release.
There were 17 pedestrian deaths in Iowa in 2008, the release said.
