The city of Indianola has named Wade Wagoner its new deputy city manager – chief of development and operations, effective Dec. 12. He succeeds Charlie Dissell, who accepted an assistant city manager role in Missouri. Wagoner will also serve as interim city manager after Indianola City Manager Ben Reeves departs in late December for a new role in Utah. “[Wade] will be an amazing and much-needed addition to our staff and for our elected officials, helping to advance the city’s priorities and ensuring that growth is supported in a unified, well-coordinated manner. … His proven track record of securing funding and driving transformative projects will position Indianola for success,” Reeves said in a prepared statement. Wagoner has 26 years of experience in the public and private sectors, holding roles as a planner, community development director, economic development director and city manager. He has previously worked for the cities of Norwalk, Lake Park, Waterloo and Kearney, Mo. Most recently he served as city administrator for the city of Colfax, where he led revitalization efforts, including the relocation and renovation of Colfax City Hall. Wagoner will be paid an annual base salary of $150,267.78.
