Water Works Park Foundation appoints new executive director

Burch as executive director, effective tomorrow, Aug. 28. In his new role, Burch will lead Water Works Park Foundation’s strategic vision, oversee daily operations and drive initiatives that align with the foundation’s mission of education and conservation, a news release said. He will work closely with the board of directors, volunteers, vendors and community partners. Burch succeeds Sam Carrell, who will remain engaged as a consultant for several of the foundation’s initiatives. Burch previously served as director of operations at the Principal Charity Classic, where he advanced the tournament’s sustainability goals. Before that, he was the director of the IMT Des Moines Marathon for 17 years. “We are very excited to welcome Chris to the Water Works Park Foundation,” said Crystal Franke, board president, in a prepared statement. “He brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in community engagement that will be instrumental in guiding the organization through its next phase of growth and innovation.” Water Works Park Foundation is a nonprofit aiming to improve quality of life through the enhancement of Water Works Park.
