The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce Foundation is a new nonprofit organization created by the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce to focus on community and regional needs, the chamber announced Monday. According to a news release, the mission of the new foundation will be to collaborate with area business leaders and stakeholders to solve community problems and create opportunities with a focus on workforce development, economic prosperity and civic engagement. According to a news release, Katherine Harrington will lead the foundation as president and continue to serve as president and CEO of the West Des Moines Chamber. A ribbon cutting for the foundation will be held on Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. at the West Des Moines Chamber office, 650 S. Prairie View Drive #110.
