The city of West Des Moines has hired former public school administrator Megan Thole as its next director of human resources. Thole will start in the position Dec. 9, according to a news release from City Manager Tom Hadden. Thole has served as director of human resources for West Des Moines Community Schools since July 2021 and was previously associate principal at Valley High School. The release says she has also held administrative positions in the Chicago Public Schools. Thole has a Master of Education in school leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a Master of Arts in education from National Louis University in Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Iowa.
