Wednesday farmers market to return in late August
The Wednesday Farmers Market will return to the Western Gateway Aug. 22 to Oct. 17. In its second year, the midweek market will be held on 13th Street between Grand Avenue and Locust Street from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Wednesday market will feature 30 vendors who will offer seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables, local art and entertainment, and prepared food. Learning opportunities such as cooking classes and special programming will also be provided by sponsors, which include Meredith Corp., Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. and Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa.
