Weitz Co., a construction management and contracting company headquartered in Des Moines, announced Mina Wassef has been promoted to business development director. Throughout Wassef’s decade at Weitz, he has driven the company into new markets and led major pursuits across the U.S. and internationally, the company said in a news release. He brings experience in aviation, industrial, mission critical, commercial and transportation construction. Wassef joined Weitz’s parent company, Orascom Construction, in 2013 as a corporate business development manager and was promoted to general manager of the Weitz office in Arizona in 2023. “With Mina’s promotion from General Manager to Business Development Director, we are poised for even greater success,” Kevin McClain, Weitz Co. CEO and president, said in a prepared statement. “… His growth mentality and commitment to pursuing and winning the right projects for us will reinforce our dedication to excellence, backed by Mina’s two decades of industry expertise.” In addition to its headquarters and Iowa offices, Weitz Co. also has locations in Arizona, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, Washington and Virginia.
