The deadline is rapidly approaching for organizations to apply for grant funding through the Wellmark Foundation Large Matching Assets to Community Health (MATCH) grant program. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21. The MATCH grants are designed to support larger projects that build upon the assets unique to a community. The grants, which may be up to $100,000 from the Wellmark Foundation, must be matched dollar-for-dollar with cash or in-kind contributions, and the projects must be completed within two years. Examples of projects include improving access to locally sourced foods, advancing active transportation options and providing more opportunities for residents to be physically active.
