After gaining permission from the city of West Des Moines to erect a 55-foot pole for an osprey nest at its campus on Jordan Creek Parkway, Wells Fargo & Co. has an announcement. Two osprey chicks have hatched, and the parents are among just 22 nesting pairs of osprey in the state, according to a release. The birds got some publicity last year when they built a nest atop the counterweights of a crane that was being used during the construction of a parking ramp, part of the company’s recent expansion in West Des Moines.
