West Des Moines Chamber concludes two-year talent attraction campaign, launches High School Leadership Academy

140 wordsAll Latest News, Economic Development, EducationThe West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce has announced the conclusion of its two-year Talent Attraction Campaign (TAC). The initiative was designed to strengthen the workforce pipeline and promote West Des Moines as a destination for career growth through targeted programming, including bringing students from across the state into West Des Moines businesses. According to a news release, the chamber will focus on new workforce initiatives this year focused on work-based learning and employee retention. The chamber has announced the launch of the High School Leadership Academy (HSLA), a new program to help students learn leadership skills and gain career exploration opportunities. The program will serve ninth through 11th grade students from Valley Southwoods, Walnut Creek, and Valley High School. Students can nominate themselves or be nominated to participate.
