Des Moines Register: After getting a late start because of permitting delays, construction workers in Iowa are clocking 12- and 14-hour days to complete the $3.8 billion Dakota Access pipeline by winter — and they’re being paid well for the effort. One union worker’s base pay is $37.04 per hour, plus benefits, overtime and per diem pay. “You can make $100,000 in six months,” a union business manager said.
