The World Food Prize Foundation recently released its first Top Agrifood Pioneers (TAP) list, which recognizes global trailblazers who are working in food and agriculture. According to a news release, the 38 awardees come from 20 countries on six continents and represent a range of ages and fields in which they work, from farming to animals, crop science, ag technology, nutrition, education and advocacy. “As the world contends with growing challenges to food systems, innovators are critical to ensuring food security, sustainability and livelihoods. We are thrilled to highlight these 38 diverse pioneers and their work,” Terry Branstad, president of the World Food Prize Foundation, said in a prepared statement. TAP is a community that is designed to expand each year to facilitate greater learning and collaboration, according to a news release. The awardees will be featured at this year’s Borlaug Dialogue in Des Moines on Oct. 29-31.
