The World Food Prize Foundation has announced the promotion of Mashal Husain to senior vice president, development, finance and operations, and the hiring of Emily Boyden as director of communications. Husain has worked for the foundation for 14 years. She joined it in 2008 as the director of development and finance. In 2014 she was named vice president of the foundation and managed the $30 million restoration of the historic Des Moines library building and its transformation into the global headquarters of the World Food Prize Foundation. In her new role, she will continue to provide strategic growth opportunities through fundraising, partner engagement, and oversight of all financial and operational activities. Boyden, who previously served as the communications manager at the Harkin Institute for Public Policy & Citizen Engagement at Drake University, will manage the foundation’s communications team, help develop better strategies for audience engagement, and work with foundation team members to create media content for the foundation’s programs.
