YMCA board taps Jim Noyce as interim CEO

The board of directors of the YMCA of Greater Des Moines announced today it has hired retired FBL Financial Group Inc. CEO Jim Noyce as interim CEO of the association as it searches for an individual to permanently fill the role of president and CEO.
Wade Riedinger, current senior vice president and chief openrating officer, will contiue to serve as interim president.
 
“Jim is a well-known and respected leader in our community. He brings to the YMCA a wealth of knowledge and experience that are an ideal fit for us at this time,” said Clarence Hudson, YMCA of Greater Des Moines board chair.

Riedinger and Noyce temporarily fill the vacancy left by Vernon Delpesce, who resigned  from the YMCA as president and CEO on Jan. 7. Delpesce had been in that role since 2002.

Noyce spent the majority of his nearly 30-year career at FBL, where his roles included chief administrative officer, chief financial officer, CEO and member of the board of directors. The YMCA of Greater Des Moines is working with the YMCA of the USA and Hamilton Group to lead a national search for a president and CEO.

Noyce is dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations in the community. He has served as a member of the board of directors and in various leadership roles for United Way of Central Iowa, including chairing the 2008 United Way campaign, Special Olympics Iowa, The Principal Charity Classic golf tournament, Greater Des Moines Partnership, Junior Achievement of Central Iowa and Grand View University.
